The Big W

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

I’ve talked about this before, but I cannot reveal too much of it. All I can say is, it won’t be long until you will meet your dominus. Watch the remaining days count down until March 25th. Count the days! They will be the last days of your life in amiss wisdom. The Big W will arrive at a computer screen near you: soon. :)

Damn you, Best Buy… You lost my laptop!

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

Best Buy has lost a customer’s laptop when she took it to Best Buy for repair, so the owner is now suing the retail store company for the small amount of $54 million! That’s $54M for one laptop… OK, you have to take into account that some of her data were on the HD, too. But let’s do the math: The customer (her name is Raelyn Campbell, by the way), bought the laptop for the tiny sum of $1,100. Maybe she is a new breed of genius investors who set off to make 5,000,000% return on investments, I don’t know… Anyway, if Best Buy settles for any amount higher than $10,000 (value of the laptop plus damages for the lost data) I will lose all respect for that company. And I will sue Best Buy for $100 million due to psychological damages I suffered from reading and writing about this stuff… So better don’t lose this lawsuit, Best Buy. Better don’t lose!

Here it finally is, the first teaser trailer for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull:

I couldn’t help but smile while watching this. The music works every time again. I just hope the movie will be as good as the trailer. Looking forward to this! :)

Three Pieces of Three: Two

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

This is, finally, the second piece of the Three Pieces of Three trilogy: Lauf des Lebens. I wrote this short story two years ago on February 12, 2006. It was a rainy day and cold outside, I still remember, and I was in a lovely mood.

Piece I: Die Spielstraße (published January 23, 2008; PDF; ~44KB)
Piece II: Lauf des Lebens (published February 12, 2008; PDF; ~50KB)

The last piece is set to be available to you on the first day of March 2008. This I can reveal already: It is the twisted story of one man’s shoe and one shoe’s man, thrivingly intertwined in the warm world of a dark-dark ballroom.

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

Movie poster artist John Alvin has recently passed away. Although only few people know John Alvin by name, I’m sure about ever moviegoer knows his incredible artworks. So, I’d like to start this new smoky/glass series off with an Alvin poster:
