I can tell you, it was a very difficult task to compile my personal top 50 movie list. I started off with more than 500 movies about one week ago, but finally managed to narrow it down to 50. It was not only difficult because of the sheer number of movies but also because I considered all of them to be good ones (otherwise, I wouldn’t have included them on my initial list). Now, the final top 50 list has been compiled and it’s safely locked away in my Cayman Islands safe deposit box. Every week on Monday I call the bank’s manager who then reads the next movie on the list out to me on the phone. Yes, that’s service and it’s free - if you have a bank account in the Caymans. By the way, they even came home to me, picked the list up personally and flew it over in the bank’s corporate jet. But back to topic: The list is complete and number 50 is already nervously waiting to see the light of day. Before I can reveal it to you I must speak a word of caution: This is my very personal top 50 movie list and it does in no way indicate the public’s general opinion on any of the movies on the list and not on the list. In fact, there are so many great films not on the list, which is also the reason why it was such a difficult week for me… I just couldn’t delete the movies from the list, until Monday came closer and my desperation reached levels that had previously been unheard-of… It was Rhine Lana McLin who taught me to be down-and-dirty and finally grab the pen and eliminate those (still great) movies. Also, I only included movies which I have seen. I have watched a lot of movies and at least 50% of them have been good, but there are still so many movies and some classics which I have not yet had the chance to watch.  So much for the words of introduction. Number 50 can’t wait any longer. Here we go!
